Patricia Rumschlag – President
Patricia grew up on her parent’s farm in Adams County just outside of Decatur, Indiana. Studying accounting at Bellmont High School she continued her higher education at the International Business College and went on to earn her Bachelors in Accounting at Fort Wayne’s University of Saint Francis.
Initially she worked for and was mentored by Fort Wayne CPA Rex Harris of Harris and Associates Inc. Fifteen years of multifaceted bookkeeping for both Public and Private clients gave her the exposure, experience, and self-confidence to make a life changing career move.
During 2001 Patricia launched In Balance Books. She immediately called upon and applied her prior training and perfectionist nature to her client’s specific financial needs. To date her efforts have been rewarded with a loyal client base throughout the Decatur, Indiana and the Greater Fort Wayne, Indiana area. As clients have relocated her scope of services now includes most of the continental United States and Hawaii.
Along the way she became a tax specialist and an Enrolled Agent, a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. While applying QuickBooks to her client’s situations Patricia became a QuickBooks Specialist in 2000 and has been a ProAdvisor since 2002. Additionally, her continuing education regiment includes annual QuickBooks Recertification, pre-tax season seminars conducted by various authorities, professional sessions, seminars, and meetings. She is constantly studying the ever changing State and Federal tax instructions, guidelines, regulations and laws.
She has been joined by the In Balance Books Professionals; a group of highly trained professionals that are skilled at their craft and with decades of bookkeeping and real world business experiences.
Patricia states one key to her success is, “When we are working for a client we are totally focused on that client’ needs and wellbeing, as if they were our only client.”
She belongs to and supports a number of Community and Professional groups and associations.
Still living in Decatur Patricia’s family includes her husband Rick, four children and four grandchildren. Church, Community Service, Flowers and Family provide the “Pressure Relief” for her demanding lifestyle.
Jeannie has the winning smile, conversational skills, disposition, and can do attitude required for In Balance Books’, “Officer of First Impressions.”
She serves as the Alpha (greeting) and Omega (final assembly of Indiana, Ohio, and other States as well as Federal tax documents) for most client interactions.
Hers is often the first voice a client hears; the first associate greeting them when they stop by the Decatur, Indiana office. Her assistance includes; assessment of the client’s needs; individual, farm, or corporate taxes, bookkeeping, and/or finances services. She then directs them to the proper In Balance Books professional and helps them with their scheduling needs.
Jeannie also advises the client of the documents they need to bring with them while going over the client’s check list of changes and updates step by step. She also collects State and Federal filing documents, scans client’s tax information, assembles the completed State and Federal Tax Returns and masters the organizing, copying, and mailing functions.
Jeanne was born, raised, and has lived on Adams County, Indiana farms all of her life. Married to Ronald for 43 years they have two daughters and four grandchildren. She and her husband are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Decatur, Indiana.
Growing up on a farm and marrying into a farm family, Jeannie is familiar with the day to day workings of a farm operation, including recording farm income, expenses, and farm equipment depreciation. Her knowledge is beneficial to In Balance Books’ farm clients when they call or stop in with questions.
